My name is Ian Crawford Brown, my place of birth is Glasgow , Scotland.  The earliest known ancestor is Joseph Brown, born about 1800-1803 in Kilbirnie in Ayrshire. He married in Dalry, Ayrshire in 1830 & died in Kilwinning ,Ayrshire in 1866. Many of my ancestors lived in the Ayrshire area including my grandfather who was born in Kilmory,Arran.

                My father & his parents immigrated to Taunton, Massachusetts in 1924 ,attending Taunton High School graduating in 1929. He & his parents returned to Scotland in 1932. His half-brother (John Brown Jnr) from his father’s previous marriage, remained in USA. He seems to have moved to Boston in 1932, possibly working in a hospital. From my recollection he must have died around 1950 & he may have had a son born in the early 1940’s.
